Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is a way for our communities to unite and take a stand against drug use and abuse. Each year, Drug Us is Life Abuse provides Orange County children in grades K-12 a Red Ribbon wrist band to show they choose to live drug free.

The Red Ribbon Campaign® began when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985. This spurred the tradition of displaying red ribbons every October as a symbol of intolerance to drugs.
